A/N: At end of chapter
"Ryan, where were you?" his mother shrieked as he got inside the house.
"I left a note," Ryan stated, sounding a little bored.
"I know but you still shouldn't just leave. What if someone kidnapped you?"
"Does this look like the hood to you?" Ryan asked sarcastically.
Ryan's mom was about to tell him not to talk back when the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Ryan said enthusiastically, rushing to get the door.
"Jon left," Brendon said breathlessly, when Ryan opened the door.
"Did you run here?" Ryan asked, smirking slightly.
"Kind of," Brendon answered sheepishly.
Ryan laughed, "My mom's going to kill me but let's go for a walk."
"OK."
"Mom, I'm going for a walk!" Ryan called out, shutting the door without waiting for an answer.
"Where do you want to go?" Brendon asked nervously.
"Is there a park around here?"
Brendon nodded and took Ryan's hand, beginning to lead the way.
"Jon's not going to talk to me again until school starts," Brendon said after a few seconds silence.
"Can I guess that's because of me?"
"He says I'm wasting my time."
"Why does he think that?" Ryan asked curiously.
"He thinks you'll ignore me when school starts." Brendon already beginning to sound bored with the conversation.
"I don't think I'd ignore the only person who talks to me."
"Is that all I am? Just someone who talks to you?" Brendon asked shyly.
Ryan looked at his hand that was holding onto Brendon's. He bit his lip and looked at Brendon.
"We just met," Ryan mumbled.
"So?"
Ryan didn't answer. Brendon smiled and kissed his cheek Ryan felt himself blush.
"You know, I don't think I've ever gotten into a fight with Jon before," Brendon mused.
"Are you trying to guilt me into something?" Ryan asked with a smile.
"Only if it's working."
"It might be."
Brendon began to walk faster. Ryan had to jog so Brendon wasn't dragging him.
"This isn't what I meant when I said 'park'. This is more like, woods. " Ryan complained as he disconnected his hand.
"I know. Trust me, this is better."
"Can I ask how this is better or would that make me sound too bitchy?"
"It would make you sound bitchy but I don't really care. This is much nicer than the park because there are no bratty little kids," Brendon explained with a smile.
"Alright, so where are we going in the woods?" Ryan asked holding his hand out for Brendon to lead him.
"Now you trust me?" Brendon smirked as he took Ryan's hand.
"I don't think I honestly have a choice."
"It's good to know you've given in," Brendon said as he began to guide Ryan into the woods. Ryan nearly fell over several branches. "See this is nice," Brendon said as they reached sort of a clearing.
"Yeah," Ryan said, staring at Brendon.
Brendon smiled and rather nervously pressed his lips against Ryan's. Ryan smiled as he pressed back.
"Isn't this better than Seattle?" Brendon asked as their lips parted.
Ryan nodded and pulled Brendon closer to him, kissing him roughly.
Brendon laughed, "For being so nervous about just meeting me you don't seem to care about that now."
"Shut up," Ryan said, pushing Brendon against a tree in with another rough kiss.
